Ward-Level Gatherings Offer Alternatives
Ward 11 will hold its monthly community meeting on July 22. Ward 12 has scheduled summer events on July 22 and August 1. An additional event at Estabrook is set for August 14 as a summer kickback and open house showcase. These gatherings give residents a chance to connect with council representatives outside the formal meeting format.
The limited council schedule includes sessions on July 15 and August 19. Each will start with a Committee of the Whole meeting, and neither will include public comment. Regular sessions return at 7:00 p.m. on September 14, 2026, according to the council website.
Recent Committee Activity and Next Steps
Earlier this summer the Utilities Committee heard a presentation from First Energy on a proposed rate increase. Councilwoman Stephanie Howse-Jones also issued a statement supporting Governor DeWine’s actions on mail-in voting. The Cleveland Commission on Black Women and Girls held its monthly meeting in June. These items reflect ongoing committee work even during the lighter summer period.
